this is the code and it says that :Index exceeds matrix dimensions. Error in mat1 (line 5) binary_image = binary_image(120:400,20:250); please help me

We as readers have no reason to expect that the image you are reading is at least as large as the size you are expecting it to be.
But I suspect that when you coded
binary_image = binary_image(120:400,20:250);
that you that though you were coding x range and then y range; in MATLAB, images have y range and then x range. You might need
binary_image = binary_image(20:250, 120:400);

Hi Madhur Dheer, I think so, you have got answer by this time. But still... You can send the input file :'101_1.tif' or else check the size of 101_1.tif using M=size(101_1.tif) and after getting that, you have to update the values in "binary_image = binary_image(120:400,20:250);" (which is in line 5) crop the row and column within the size that M returns. All the best :)
