Hi all,
I am running a simple model in Simulink and I want to optimise it.
I have used the Model Explorer to set the Variables I want to optmized, and named the respective Gain blocks accordingly.
However, when in the Response Optimisation, I click to select Design Variables Set -> click on New, an error comes up which says:
The model does not use any base or model workspace variables. Configure the model to use base or model
workspace variables for optimization.
I thought by following the above procedure, I have already configured my model as such. So how can I configure my model to run optimisation?
Thanks for your help in advance,
KMT.

Hello, If in your model, you don't need to use some workspace variable it is not necessary to optimize your model also for this part.

Thanks for your answer Marco!
I do not understand the following then: I have three gain blocks and I would like to find their optimum combination of values such that my response has some of the desired characteristics that I want. For example these requirements are: overshoot less than 5% and attain its steady state in less than 0.3 seconds
If it is not necessary to optimise, then how would I do this? I am trying avoid changing values manually and running the model to check whether it fulfils the response requirements I have set
