System requirements for CNN simulation

What are the minimal (optimal) system requirements (GPU, CPU, RAM etc) for CNN (Alexnet, vgg-16) transfer learning simulations in MATLAB 2017a? I have run some examples only on CPU (i5, 2.2GHz) and it takes too much time.

The minimal system requirements would be something less powerful than what you have now.

The optimal system requirements would be an Intel XE server class system overclocked and cooled with liquid nitrogen, with the server class version of the Nvidia Pascal 1080 family.

Don't forget the NVIDIA DGX-1 super-computer, a pip at $130,000 or so. You could probably cluster a few hundred of those with Infiniband connects.

Ah, I didn't think those had x64 architecture CPUs so I didn't think MATLAB could run on them, but checking the specs I see they are indeed Intel Xeon based.
