Simscape gas pipe element causes initialization errors

I have a Simscape model with a long thin (an inner diameter of 0.030") tube in the middle. When the tube is shorter (less than about 10 inches in length) the simulation runs perfectly, but when I change the tube to become longer (about 20 inches in length) I receive the following error message:
"Transient initialization, solving for consistent states and modes, failed to converge. Nonlinear solver: failed to converge, residual norm too large."
The actual tube is very long (multiple feet), so I don't know how to accurately model this in Simscape without getting error messages.

It could be a modeling issue. Please use the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the following documentation to figure out any discrepancies in the model:
