non-vertical line elimination in binary image

Hi Im trying to describe with matlab a pseudocode for eliminating non-vertical lines (0, 45, 135 degrees) in a binary image. Actually, boundaries of the binary image has been extracted but i like to have only the vertical edges using the pseudocode.
NOTE: 0 = white and 1 = black in pseudo
