How do i copy parts of one simulink model to another?

This question is somewhat basic but I have two Simulink models and want to make a new model with some content from each and am not sure how to do it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Here is a quote from OP who answered their own question in the comments. Adding as answer because its now buried in the hidden comments.
"i realized that i had 2 instances of matlab running so copy/paste did not work which is why... ugh!"
I saw this and then launched the second simulink model from the same MATLAB instance - problem solved!
