pixel scan

This project is about Image processing.

I have to work on a image. I just got outline view that initially i should select a pixel. Then i should proceed for its neighbour pixels. In that way, i can work on all pixels of an image.

My question is how to select the first pixel. And which command(or logic) is opt to find it. In the same way, which command is used to find its neighbour.
