I built a minimum example:
1) one synchronous machine pu standard
- Parameters set to an arbitrary preset model
- Saturation on
- Load Flow set to PQ, both set to zero
2) one three phase source
3) one load flow bus
- Voltage set to 1.1 pu
.
I use Powergui Load Flow to calculate the initial state.
Result of Calculation:
- Constant at power-input of machine is zero. That´s OK.
- Constant at exciter input of machine is 1.1. That´s not OK. Due to activated saturation I expect another value. It should be possible to point-wise calculate the no-load saturation curve (which is the input parameter of the saturation of machine) of the machine by adjusting the voltage setpoint of the load flow bus and keeping P=Q=0.
What is my mistake?
Thanks!

Hi Matthias
I would give this a go with a recent release of Simscape Electrical where we have added load flow analysis and synchronous machines simulate well with open windings.
I am under the impression that your system is over-constrained.
