Why Matlab opens a new session when I double-click a mat file when a session is already open?

Matlab opens multiple sessions everytime I click a mat file. I want them to open in the same session. I have tried File Association Fix and also tried to edit security tab for the pathdef.m file. None worked! Matlab vesrsion: R2017a OS: windows 10 pro x64
