Does Matlab student stop working after graduation?

I am graduating soon, but i want to learn about Matlab, which might take a long time. Thus, i will certainly need to use it after my graduation. So the uncertainty whether it will be worth it or not is a really preventing me from making a decision.

So my question is what will happen to my license after my graduation? will matlab still work? And how much will it cost if i want to upgrade it to Home version? Can the Home version be used indefinitely?
