Finding max and min value in a contour plot

Basically I am doing a contour plot for a 2D matrix. I want to find the exact value of the max and min value of the matrix. is it anyway to do it on contour plot directly? Thank you!

Why not just get it from the matrix directly:
minIntensityValue = min(matrix2D(:));
maxIntensityValue = max(matrix2D(:));
Or did you mean the min and max x and y of the contour lines ?
