Using Inf alongside isosurface

I have a dataset that contains Inf's, in my case, meaning an acid never melts away that part of the surface. Now, this works in 2D, with contour, but it doesn't produce anything in 3D with isosurface, it just gives me a blank screen, is it possible to change this?
Thank you.

Also, I know I 'could' just change all the Infs to zeros but I was wondering if there was a better solution.

Changing the inf to nan might work.
