How do I check if an instrument's output is on or off?

I'm writing a program for communicating with Keithley source meters. One of my function requires me to check if the source output is on or off. I looked up every commands and queries and still couldn't find anything. I could only find methods that check to see what kind of source it is: "SOURCE:FUNCTION:MODE?" Is there any way to do see if the output is already turned on or off?

BTW, this instrument is a KEithley 2400 Source Meter

That's a question for Keithley tech support. My reading of the manual here says that you should be able to see the state by querying OUTPUT? (See page 18-57).
