how do i interface a rs485 instrument to my matlab program via USB port

i have a data-logger that outputs data as a rs485 but the requirement is to connect it via a USB port [it has a rs485 to USB convertor] to my laptop. how do i read the data into my MATLAB program ? Is it possible via the TMTOOL ?
