activate 2012b on ubuntu 15.10 with mathwors account

i am trying to activate 2012b on ubuntu 15.10 i get the following message: Error 1,714: Unable to activate your machine. The activation process cannot detect a valid Host ID which utilizes a currently supported naming convention. Please refer to the following solution ID, to help resolve this issue: 1-661QJD
i was able to successfully activate 2014b on the same system. any way to activate 2012b?
