Playing a tone using Matlab through an external audio interface

I am trying to use Matlab to play a tone through a Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 external audio Interface. I am currently trying to use the dsp.audioplayer function with ASIO as the selected audio hardware API, however I am having no luck. How can I go about solving this problem?
