adaptive local thresholding for gray scale image ?

i want to binarization an image by using adaptive local threshold http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/8647-local-adaptive-thresholding/content/adaptivethreshold/adaptivethreshold.m

but the resukt was that the pic the figure all converted to white ?

anyone know what is the error in this code? or any other methods to performe the adaptive local threshold ?

Maybe you could just use CLAHE (via function adapthisteq) and then do a global threshold. Or better yet, post your photo and ask for professional, experienced opinions on how to segment your image rather than assuming adaptive local thresholding is the way to go.

It's probably the hand vein image.

It looks like he probably passed in the wrong parameters into the routine. Some educated experimentation might be needed to find the optimal input parameters such as window size and threshold value.
