The Mathworks team has helped me find the phased array adaptation tool needed for my problem. It is the Frost Beamformer as implemented in TimeDelayLCMVBeamformer wherein the look direction frequency response can be specified as in the 1972 work by Frost ("An Algorithm for Linear Constrained Adaptive Array Processing" Proc of IEEE August 1972) in his Equations 11a and 11b. My particular use of this algorithm will require that the array perform its adaptation and then the adaptation be frozen. That is, I need to allow the array to adapt and then use the resulting coefficients in a static (i.e not adapting) system. I am guessing that I would simply need to output the array coefficients from TimeDelayLCMVBeamformer and use these coefficients in a static Time Delay Antenna Array. Can someone direct me to an appropriate Matlab object that would accept the coefficients from the Frost adaptive beamformer? Or perhaps there is a method for freezing the adaptation of the TimeDelayLCMVBeamformer itself? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately there is not a supported workflow for freezing the adaptation, and there is not a way to invoke particular coefficients on a beamformer.
