PDE compact solutions in Matlab

Hi!

I'm working on solutions to a parabolic PDE, and was wondering if there is a way to get MATLAB to work out whether the solutions are compact or not?

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean. What is a compact solution?

Also, are you asking with respect to PDE Toolbox, or something else?

I'm using pdepe, for definition of compactly supported function http://mathworld.wolfram.com/CompactSupport.html
