How big is MATLAB?

I recently downloaded MATLAB and it is taking up almost 10GB on my computer. Is this normal?

My R2015b folder is ~4 GB.

This includes ~6 toolboxes. Depending how many and which ones you have they could vary a lot in size. My toolbox folder is ~1.5 GB of that total.

How are you measuring how much space it takes up? I just right-clicked the properties for the folder in Program Files.

If that is just the executable then it definitely shouldn't be that big. The executable alone is just 240 KB for R2015b on my Windows machine.

I agree with Adam. My installation on my Win 8.1 laptop is 4.02 GB with 12 Toolboxes and Simulink.

Mine takes up about 10GB. I used the default installation options.
