Regarding Software for my portfoli

Currently i am working on wind power forecasting, i have to analyse the grib files and predict the power generated by the turbine. I am not aware of Matlab, but i had received that matlab could support me in my portfolio, I request you t suggest me how far matlab would support me. awating for your reply

Matlab and Simulink are full-featured computational platforms; almost certainly you can whatever it is you wish with either/both...

I'd suggest looking at the features and some of the example applications at
