ODBC Connection With No Username/Password

Hi, I have a proprietary ODBC driver that I've configured in windows. It works fine using python's pyodbc with just the DSN and no user/pass. However, if I try using ODBCConnection in MATLAB with '' for user and pass, it gives an error. It has no form that doesn't take user/pass. Then I tried the database explorer app and it too does not let you add a connection with no user/pass. Is there a way around this?
