Suppose that I have a 1GHz signal sample at 100GHz.If I wish to find spectrum of this signal (I need 1Hz resolution), I need to have approximately 2^36 FFT bins. Now the question is , how can one simulate FFT with such huge array size on a standard notebook with standard configuration ?
I don't mind waiting for few hours (I tried before) and I had array size error (says it exceeded 7.5 gb space).
Also, do you have any suggestion if I need spectral accuracy at low frequency ? Thanks.

You indicate the frequency of your signal of interest and you indicate the sample rate, but we need to have an idea of how large your original array is.
