how to implement your algorithm with a gui

i have made an algorithm for Content Based Image Retrieval for medical databases and its working fine but i want to implement it with a gui.. my requirement is one must be able to browse an image file through a folder and it should be displayed as query image and results should shown at the bottom...like images should be displayed one after the another...i tried gui tutorial but i m finding it difficult to integrate my algorithm...
