is there a way to import a matlab 3D model into unreal engine 4?

I'm currently developing a app from unreal engine 4 to show some of my 3D models created with matlab. i understand that it cant be done straight away, perhaps need to go through maya or 3dmax etc. is there any way to do this? Thanks
