I'm using MATLAB Online with Simscape Multibody, and I want to set the camera in Mechanics Explorer to a top-down view (looking along the Z-axis to view the XY plane).
Is there a way to select a predefined view in MATLAB Online?

Yes, you can indeed set the view of camera in Mechanics Explorer app of Simscape Multibody. You can modify the model view by:
  • Selecting a view convention
  • Selecting a standard view
  • Rotating, panning and zooming.
You can find more details from the below documentation link:
You can also utilize “Camera Manager” from the “Mechanics Explorer” menu bar to create dynamic cameras with moving viewpoints. Refer the below documentation to know more about the same.
Hope this helps!

Thanks, but you answer is not relevant for Matlab online.

In the corner of the Multibody Explorer window you will see the little 3D cube and axes triad. Click the face of the cube labeled “Z up” and it will jump to a true top-down view of your model.
