M script to check whether the signal before/after map/curve(2D/1D) is resolved or not?

Hello,

I need to check whether the signal before/after map/curve(2D/1D) is resolved or not. I am unable to write a m script for this scenario. I am little confused as I am not really good with using handles. Any suggestions would be really helpful and much appreciated. Thank you!
