I am currently using the RF Toolbox, to generate cascades using s-parameter files with the RF Budget Analyzer.
When I insert a passive component into the tool, It returns a noise figure value that is not equal to the negative of the Gain (Insertion loss in this case). Does anyone know what could cause this? This occurs even if I import a single S-parameter file, as the only part in the cascade.

Hi Jarret,
In MATLAB's RF Toolbox, when using the RF Budget Analyzer, a passive component's noise figure should equal the negative of its gain (insertion loss). Discrepancies can arise due to:
1. Incorrect S-parameter file format or units.
2. Mismatched reference impedance.
3. Frequency range differences.
4. Impedance mismatches causing mismatch losses.
5. Misconfigured tool settings.
6. Data interpolation issues.
7. Numerical precision errors.
To troubleshoot, verify the S-parameter file, ensure correct settings, test with known parameters.
