Different damping coefficient in compression and extension in the prismatic joint block

Hi everyone,
I'm using the prismatic joint block (simscape multibody) to simulate a suspension of a vehicle. I need to set different damping coefficinet in compression ad extension, but in the prismatic joint options I only find a generic damping coefficient. Is there any way to simulate different damping coefficients in compression and extension?

Hi @Edoardo
To set different damping coefficient in compression and extension of the simulated vehicle, you can create two separate subsystems with different "Prismatic Joint" blocks with different damping coefficients. These subsystems can be conditionally executed using a If-Else structure or Switch Case structure. Refer to the documentation here for more information (https://www.mathworks.com/help/simulink/ug/select-subsystem-execution.html)
I hope this helps!
