what type of image as entry to do jpeg code

i'm doing jpeg compression, and i'm asking what type of image should i took as entry of my program?
bmp, tiff or other types/

You can choose any lossless compression images and apply the proposed compression algo and compare. If you want to know the difference in those image formats, please refer to the following link (External Link)
