Tring to figure out a simple problem that uses probability functions.

I need to write a word problem that requires the use of one of the Probability Distributions in order to solve, use MatLab to write code to solve it and generate a graph that illustrates the answer.

I am not looking for anything complicated I just need something that uses Probability functions such as poisscdf,binocdf, normcdf

Is this homework? Knowing if its homework will help responders know how to help you best. Otherwise, who needs to solve the word problem? What is the problem for? There is a lot of degree of difficulty in an abitrary word problem that uses a probability distribution. Hope this helps!

It is my understanding that you need to use probability distribution functions to plot graphs for dataset you have.

Kindly go through the documentation for "cdf()" (cumulative distribution function). This documentation teaches you about various distribution functions like Poisson distribution cdf, Standard normal distribution cdf, Gamma distribution cdf.

Here is a coding example to plot cdf on Standard Normal distribution of data

% Create a standard normal distribution object.
pd = makedist('Normal')

pd = 
  NormalDistribution

  Normal distribution
       mu = 0
    sigma = 1

% Specify the x values and compute the cdf.
x = -3:.1:3;
p = cdf(pd,x);
