Is Arduino Ethernet Shield R3 supported?

I have an Arduino Ethernet Shield R3 with an Arduino Uno R3. Any idea if I can use this to connect to ThingSpeak with this? And also I can't seem to get the example https://www.mathworks.com/help/supportpkg/arduino/ref/using-ethernet-shield-with-arduino-hardware.html working. For Task 2, I can send but i keep getting error for receive.

Host 192.168.3.11 is actively refusing a connection on port 50000

• you might potentially be using the wrong IP address, but one that happens to be associated with an existing host
• your host might potentially have a firewall set up that is blocking outgoing connections to that host or that port
• the receiving host might not have anything configured for port 50000 and so is refusing connection to that port
• the receiving host might potentially have a firewall configuration that is blocking your access to the port

You are, however, reaching something that is actively refusing the connection. For example if you had configured a completely wrong IP address then there would be a delay while your system tried to send out a packet and your system waited for something to answer.

Can you use the thingSpeakRead and thingSpeakWrite blocks?

I was initially trying with "ThingSpeak Read" to read data from a public channel and then "ThingSpeak Write" to write data into my channel. Gave up half way and tried this simple setup below but the channel still does not show the data. What's wrong?

Did you enter your write API key in the block? Do you have the update period shorter than the model run time of 60s?

Yes I did. By the way, where to find supported wifi shields details or is any wifi shield supported as long as they are mounted on the supported host board?

ThingSpeak should be agnostic of the hardware used for conenction, as long at is supports http or MQTT.
