Get more information than coordinates from plot

I would like to get more information than the coordinates when I click on a point in a 2D plot. Right now I'm plotting several plots in one loop and I would like to get for starters the counter number when I click on a point

plot function look something like

for counter=1:5
plot(rand)
hold on
end
