update simmechanics xml files

I'm working with SimMechanics second generation and import files from Solidworks into it. after watching a couple of videos it is described that there is the possibility of updating the SimMechanics model if the CAD model has changed. Is this function only available when exporting the CAD file to SimMechanics first generation? Or how do I update a second generation model?

I have the exact same question... the method for doing this in 1st generation is well documented and uses mech_import. 2nd generation not so well documented if it can be done at all.
