How to find local maxima and its location in real time using simulink ( HDL convertable)

The fixed point values are samples at a freuency of 250 HZ. I have tried findpeaks( predefined matlab function ) but this is not HDL convertible.

You'll need to analyze the time sequence yourself, computing the discrete derivative and looking for it to either become zero or reverse sign.
