meaning of axis in wavelet shapes

these are wavelet shapes in matlab help, i do not understand what's the meaning of x axis and y axis in each figure?

It would be useful, if you provide a link to the documentation. You cannot expect, that a reader searches these diagrams in Matlab's help sections.
Do you expect to get an introductional course in wavelet analysis here? The question is quite general.

I know practically nothing about wavelets (Wayne King is the wavelet king in this forum), but I would guess the x axis is distance (pixel location) and the y axis is the filter weight, just like with any other filter.
