how to pre process accelerometer data?

Thanks for taking your time to read this... I am new to matlab.. I want to preprocess my accelerometer data to extract statistical features.. The pre-processing follows the classic approach used in time domain analysis. At first point, I want to sample the acceleration signal, over the sampled signal, For this I want to define a time window of duration 2 seconds with an overlapping of 50% (1 seconds).... How it can be done and which toolbox i should use? Then for each window, i will extract the features...
