unable to load .mat files, showing error

When loading my .mat files it is showing
Error using load
Unable to read MAT-file C:\Users\Deans Lab\Box\Dr deans
Project\Ear-Cell-Analysis-master\Ear-Cell-Analysis-master\Data\P12\P12_Utricle_HairCells_analysis_202106161029.mat. Not a binary MAT-file. Try load
-ASCII to read as text.
