How to remove outliers using Simulink when changing the equations V = IR to V = I^2R?

In the Simscape electrical library, I changed the equations V = IR to V = I^2R and the power P = I^3R. I also changed the units of the resistance, current and voltage to be commensurate.
However, I find that whenever I run it that I have so many outliers and I am not sure how to remove these.
If I run with a tolerance of e-9, then I get an error saying that it cannot find the currents at some point, so I had to change it to a less stricter tolerance to run it. However, that does not seem to be the problem, as once it ran until after there was an outlier before giving the error (when voltage is 0.4) and it is the same for when the tolerance is reduced to e-8. There is a lack of points because after it hits the error it does not calculate it anymore. Does anyone know what could be the problem?
