Error:Invalid figure File format

Hi, I am using MATLAB R2008a for a project concerning image processing. In the beginning, I had no problems with the GUI creation and execution. But recently, I cannot open the gui that has been created (it used to run smoothly before). Whenever I try to run that particular gui, a message box pops up, scribing, "Invalid Figure File Format". I searched the website, and similar posts have come up. Is there any other way to recover the damaged gui (since it contained more details), other than creating the gui from the beginning?
