Why Matlab crashes when opening dialog window?

Matlab crashes (closes) usually without error window when I use dialog window for opening or saving. I have no chance to save changes.
Version is R2012a (7.14.0.739) 64bit.
Is anyone faced with same problem?

I have been having a similar problem with file browse dialogs in 2014a

Not really sure. I had a dialogue with Mathworks support and their best suggestions so far on seeing crash dumps (only sometimes did it just close Matlab, sometimes it gave a Matlab must close type window with a crash dump) was to reset my preferences as described in:
I haven't used Matlab enough since I did that (last Friday) to know whether or not that has solved the problem though.
They did also say that the following programs have been known to crash Matlab in the past, but I have none of these installed anyway: Virtual Dimensions, Synergy, FinCAD
