This is the response I received from support on the very same issue:
The ability of using Kinect for Windows V2 is not supported in the Image Acquisition Toolbox of MATLAB R2014a.
I will share this information with the development team and they will consider including this for one of the future releases of Image Acquisition Toolbox of MATLAB.
It would be nice to get a more definitive answer to this.
So far I have been attempting to use KinectCommonBridge library, but only grief to date.
