working with I/Q files

Hi, I am working with an audio file, (.iq48), I want to analyze and work the information of this file with MATLAB. Does anybody knows a way for doing this?.

Note: these appear to be related to Software Defined Radio; see http://digitalconfections.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=46&Itemid=54 for example.

I find hints that they might be "raw PCM" (Pulse-Code-Modulation), but headers could well be present. And I'm not sure how you would convert "raw PCM" without some kind of header info...
