Why do I receive this "Error 1,731: Activations are not allowed when License Management is set to MathWorks hosted license manage"

I have been using MATLAB R2014a student trial version, and with about 15 days left on the trial, when I open up MATLAB i get this error:
Error 1,731: Activations are not allowed when License Management is set to MathWorks hosted license manage
How can I solve this? I have been using it for days and now it opens up with the Activate MathWorks product window which I went through when setting up the application for the first time, without any problems.
