How do I make faces transparent???

The question is as same as the title, "How do I make faces transparent???"
By using "guide.m", I should make some GUI programs.
To draw a figure, I used the command, "patch.m"
While I use that command, I can make faces coloful by using the RGB map. But, as I mentioned before, I cannot make them transparent.. It seems to be related to the "alpha" value. But This is all things I could know.
Please give me the solution to solve my problem.

Does this work for you?
hp = patch([0 1 1 0],[0 0 1 1],'r');
set(hp,'FaceAlpha',0.1); % Nearly transparent.
