Barcode scanner to matlab

I wanted to have a barcode scanner and my software communicate. The specific scanner is in the link below!

After I connect it to my computer (via USB) how do I get the information the scanner read into matlab?

The bar code readers I've used act like a keyboard. Whatever letters and numbers you see below the bar code, that's what gets typed in. It' just as if you had manually typed in those characters on your keyboard. Really very very simple and easy to use since they act just like a keyboard.
