Is there any MATLAB build in functions for features extraction of single character.?

I want to extract features of the characters that i had been segmented, for the pattern recognition using SVM classifier. So is there any MATLAB build in function for this problem. Please help.

SVM is included in the Statistics Toolbox. OCR is included in the Computer Vision System Toolbox

My script is not English. I want to extract features for the Meitei Mayek characters.
Some Meitei Mayek characters are given below.
tihis is the line.
i want to extract features for the above segmented character.

And I am using MATLAB R2013a
