cross correlating two images

I have two similar images, but one image needs to slightly be rotated and cut off at the bottom in order to be correctly alligned. How is this done? I assume I have convert the images to matrices but where do I go from there?

For rotating an image you can use imrotate() and for deleting the rows you can assign it like this x(1:15,:) = [] this statement will remove the first 15 rows from the image.
For more information related to imrotate() refer this

I cannot manually rotate this picture. I was hoping to use some sort of code that involves cross correlation or image registration. Rotating it by eye would cause too much margin of error
