Classification Methods for images

Hi there,

im trying to write a code to identify sign language, so far i managed to take an input image and use segmentation methods to get the outline of every gesture in black and white using the sobel.

i was wondering is anyone can help me in choosing or finding the simplest way to be able to compare the segmented input image with other segmented samples and get the best match as an output

i realize that there are many ways but if i want as much references for this solution as possible
