Plotting a line over a surface/contour plot

Hi there,

I'm currently working on a project that involves plotting the temperature distribution over a plate (just a bit of background). I would like to label the graphs I have with lines plotted at various locations. How would I go about this? I don't want to use the annotate function as it creates various extra problems!
